High-Protein Peach Yogurt Shake

Skyr, peaches, and vanilla whey make a thick shake with more than 50 grams of protein and a fresh fruit flavor.

High-Protein Peach Yogurt Shake

Skyr is a thick Icelandic yogurt that has more protein than most Greek yogurts. With whey and frozen peaches, it makes a very high-protein shake that still tastes like a fruit smoothie.

Ingredients

Makes 1 serving.

  • 1 cup plain skyr
  • 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder (about 30 g)
  • 1 cup frozen peach slices
  • ½ cup skim milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon

Method

  1. Add the milk, skyr, and protein powder to the blender.
  2. Add the frozen peaches, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  3. Blend until smooth, about 45 seconds.
  4. Add a splash of milk if it is too thick to pour.

Tips

  • Skyr is quite tart. A teaspoon of honey balances it.
  • Use plain skyr, since flavored versions are high in sugar.

Swaps and variations

  • Use Greek yogurt in place of skyr.
  • Use mango in place of the peaches.
