Pumpkin Oatmeal Breakfast Shake

A thick, filling fall breakfast shake with pumpkin, oats, and maple.

Pumpkin Oatmeal Breakfast Shake

Pumpkin adds fiber, and oats add body. Together they make a shake that sits in your stomach like a bowl of oatmeal. This one works best when the oats soak for a few minutes before blending.

Ingredients

Makes 1 serving.

  • 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder (about 30 g)
  • 1 cup 2% milk
  • ½ cup canned pumpkin puree
  • ¼ cup rolled oats
  • ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp chopped walnuts
  • 3 ice cubes

Method

  1. Add the milk and oats to the blender and let them stand for three minutes.
  2. Add the protein powder, pumpkin, spice, maple syrup, and ice.
  3. Blend for 60 seconds, until the oats are smooth.
  4. Top with chopped walnuts.
