Cottage cheese is a cheap, high-protein base, and it blends into fruit shakes without much taste. With strawberries and banana it tastes like a strawberry-banana yogurt drink. Blend it long enough that no curds remain.
Ingredients
Makes 1 serving.
- 1 ¼ cups low-fat cottage cheese
- 1 scoop strawberry whey protein powder (about 30 g)
- ¾ cup frozen strawberries
- 1 medium banana
- ½ cup 2% milk
- 1 tbsp honey
Method
- Add the milk and cottage cheese to the blender and blend until smooth.
- Add the protein powder, strawberries, banana, and honey.
- Blend for another minute, until there are no curds left.
- Serve cold with a spoon if it is thick.

Tips

- Small-curd cottage cheese is easier to blend.
Swaps and variations
- Use blueberries in place of strawberries.
- Skip the honey if the fruit is sweet.
