Coconut Water Recovery Shake

Coconut water and a pinch of salt help replace fluids as well as protein.

Coconut Water Recovery Shake

Coconut water contains potassium, and a pinch of salt adds sodium, two minerals lost in sweat. Banana and honey supply carbohydrate, and whey supplies protein. It is a good option after a hot workout.

Ingredients

Makes 1 serving.

  • 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder (about 30 g)
  • 1 ¼ cups coconut water
  • 1 medium frozen banana
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 ice cubes

Method

  1. Add the coconut water, protein powder, lime juice, and salt to the blender.
  2. Add the frozen banana, honey, and ice.
  3. Blend until smooth, about 40 seconds.
  4. Drink cold, soon after your workout.
