Vegan Peanut Butter Banana Shake

Soy milk, plant protein, peanut butter, and banana give this vegan shake a thick, filling body.

Vegan Peanut Butter Banana Shake

Soy milk has more protein than most other plant milks, which helps this shake reach a respectable total without dairy. Peanut butter and banana hide most of the earthy flavor that plant proteins have on their own.

Ingredients

Makes 1 serving.

  • 1 scoop vanilla plant protein powder (pea/rice blend, about 32 g)
  • 1 ¼ cups unsweetened soy milk
  • 1 tbsp natural peanut butter
  • 1 medium frozen banana
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 3 ice cubes

Method

  1. Add the soy milk, peanut butter, and protein powder to the blender.
  2. Add the frozen banana, cinnamon, maple syrup, and ice.
  3. Blend on high for 60 seconds. Plant protein needs a little longer to smooth out.
  4. Check the texture. Add a splash more soy milk if it is too thick.

Tips

Swaps and variations

  • Use oat milk for a sweeter shake with less protein.
  • Add a spoonful of cocoa for a chocolate-peanut butter version.
